Introduction to Python and Beautiful Soup!

This is the first ever hands-on course for Python and Beautiful Soup with live playgrounds. Let's first begin with the what is what?.

Python is a very simple language, and has a very straightforward syntax. It encourages programmers to program without boilerplate (prepared) code. There are two major Python versions, Python 2 and Python 3. Python 2 and 3 are quite different. This tutorial uses Python 3, because it more semantically correct and supports newer features. The simplest directive in Python is the "print" directive - it simply prints out a line (and also includes a newline, unlike in C). To print a string in Python 3, just write:

Python (3.8.1)
  • Input

The Beautiful Soup (BS4) is a Python library for pulling data out of HTML and XML files. It works with your favorite parser to provide idiomatic ways of navigating, searching, and modifying the parse tree. It commonly saves programmers hours or days of work. It's current version is BS4.
